I would love to see Trump dealing with Netanyahu in the same way - "having the US funding the 'genocidal' war in Gaza that serves neither America's interest nor global stability" or "getting the American people to keep writing blank cheques" to fund the war, which Israel admitted that it lost. But US keeps funding the apartheid state with billions of dollars in aid and weapons, and Netanyahu even addressed Congress and got standing ovations over and over again for all the lies that he spewed, which no other world leader had the privilege of doing. So I guess it's not going to happen.
Well said indeed. It's tragic, however, that I can't read a similarly sane perspective in the Guardian or, I suspect, anywhere else in the western MSM.

As a former boarder back in the ‘60s in a British grammar school with public school pretensions I found myself sympathizing with Zelensky as he sat alone in Head Prefect Trump’s study with all the other Prefects leaning in on him eager to watch the beating he was about to receive.
I might be conflicted in my feelings towards Zelensky but I’m grateful to him for standing up to bully-boy Trump and forcing him to reveal his true nature and modus operandi to the watching world. Mr Putin must have found the proceedings very entertaining.
