I painted a picture Mary and then gave an assessment. Nothing odd about that.

None… but a keeper of the genocidal American empire. Just like every past, present and future president.

Money and 'backroom deals' and the hated DNC force THE people to vote for someone they deem fit! Wow. Democracy!

I vividly remember my disappointment in 1968, when the Dems place Hubert Humphrey at the top of the ticket, even though he had not won a single primary. The "back room deals" presumably ended thereafter, and George McGovern won the nod in 1972. However, the "wheeling and dealing" is apparently back with Harris in 2024.

This is not to say that Harris, for all her baggage, is not infinitely better than Trump. However, it is unfortunate that Biden did not withdraw in January -- and we have had no time for primaries since his departure. If we had, it is certainly possible that a stronger candidate might have emerged -- or that Harris would have EARNED the mantel, rather than having it bestowed upon her. We shall see what ensues.

This is a slightly odd read--seems George did a lot of quoting in most of it, seeming to admire Harris, then at the end it's back to reality about the corruption in US politics that this is just another example of. Only it isn't reality to say "if this isn't corrected now" as though this were a minor and recent problem. The US electoral system cannot be fixed, it's too entrenched, and rigged six ways from Sunday--it would have to be tossed and replaced, and even then wouldn't yield genuine democracy as long as the rich own all the means of communication and can control public opinion.
