Looking promising, GH. A US-born Spanish and Italian speaking pontiff - prepared to wage confrontation with the US and the Zionist theocracy of Israel. The US Bishops are no doubt (many of them - like what is currently happening to the ICJ/ICC) being threatened by Mossad - blackmailing them over their own "sins" is the most likely reading of their reticence and caution. Let them be brave nonetheless. Jim

Israel does not have such a grand reputation that it thinks it can point to the sis of others when their own sins surely guarantees shellfire, or is that acceptable to them since it appears their master dwells there?

Hell fire, but shelfire would be good, too.

Zionist Israel has the power of Mossad blackmail - don't underestimate it! Plus - because of that - it cares not a whit what others think of it. Genocide - torture and destruction - simply par for the Zionist course!

Even if Palestine was NOT the birthplace of Christianity, a (new) spiritual leader must speak firmly against the present-day genocide of our times.

The will he / won’t he cautious predictions of politicians and bishops alike is another illustration of how low society has fallen.

May it be uplifted in service, humility, and justice.

It is well past time for a Christian leader to speak the truth of the holocaust of Palestinians locked up in Gaza.

The cowardly Israelis would out be so blatant if Gazans had the same weapons and ways of delivering them as Israel has, with the help of Western countries - to their mortifying shame.

Oh, I so hope this pope will do the right thing and go to Gaza and be among the civilians there and listen to them, help them or at least send a delegation in his place to show support for the Palestinian people.😢☮️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

The fact that Pope Leo is an American makes him more likely to directly challenge the US government, not less.

The fact that he's from Chicago's South Side makes it damned near inevitable.

I’m certain that the new Pope isn’t antisemitic although he will be immediately accused of that if he has the compassion to continue to condemn the genocide in Gaza and the horrendous behavior by the squatters and IDF in the illegally occupied West Bank.

Looks promising, but Pope Leo, must be explicit and act on Palestine to have any moral authority and relevance. ❤️‍🩹

You can bet your bottom dollar that the CIA is going to remind the Pope that they have some very disturbing and lurid information concerning some very important prelates, be a real shame if any of that information ever were to be made public...

Thank God, at last a church leader not afraid of his own shadow. Do not worry about accusations of paedophilia, Israel has made it known that they consider such acts as a blessing, so best not bring it up because it would only bring their actions further into the open.

Leo has been misrepresented in US media, deliberately I’m sure. In Peru, he is honored as a champion of eradicating clerical abuse and of victims’ rights, encouraging victims to come forward to end the abuse.

In other words, the new pope just said the least that any decent person is expected to say in the face of the genocidal elimination of a whole innocent population, from among whom Jesus himself was born, but making sure not to even name the author of such an evil. It’s like God being afraid to call Satan by name for what “They” is. Huge papal change!
