Thank you Jim. I’m sure the powers of evil can be defeated. People just have to wake up and bs prepared to enact it.

"Follow the money"! I did not realize the numbers were that high, but they speak volumes.

It is perfectly clear that the repressive apparatus of the global West has embraced the methods and behaviours of the Zionist apartheid system. The corollary is the drastic restriction of freedom of expression and individual freedoms in general.

A perverse alignment in the face of the protests of a growing number of citizens not only jealous of preserving their constitutional rights, but also anxious to denounce loud and clear the complicity of their governments in abuses and mass crimes , and stand out…

Sure! Are Zionism and fascism not based on similar foundations based on racism and supremacy? Zionism, on the other hand, is riddled with delusions with messianic connotations. The whole is part of a vast deception that has, by contagion, infested the entire planet. We will not come out otherwise, we must de-zionise the world because it is a pernicious and invasive ideology based on lies, expansionism ( lebensraum) control and oppression. ...

. How can we, in the 21st century, support an abject colonialism that defies all universal morality and disregards international legality?

*Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose*

As one who was involved with civil rights and the anti-war movement in the 1960s, I find the current scenes chilling reminders that we have learned nothing over the past six decades. Thanks to years of ReThuglican rule and the appointment of ReThuglican judges, police are more emboldened than ever and can beat people and sometimes even murder with impunity.

Free speech HAS been stifled, but the takeover of media outlets by huge corporations has hastened its demise just as much as the police on campuses (and elsewhere). Ironically, the so-called "liberals" are also to blame, because with the advent of "political correctness," it has become almost fashionable to stifle speech. Alas, we now see that the other side is even more adept at the game...

I am very much afraid that the movement to ban books will soon morph into a movement to burn them. This, indeed, should be feared by many of us who post on substack. The return of Trump to the White House will make everything @George Hazim writes above considerably worse...

Power- wealth, technological, political and military state- is consolidating globally. Billionaires and private enterprises (like Palentir) join forces with governments to exert mind-boggling control over policy and tolerance for dissent. The Israel Lobby is deeply embedded in this emergent ecosystem; literally emboldened to commit genocide in broad daylight. No consequences.

More than ever it is critical to engage in opposition to power and its tentacles. Young people - student activists- are at the forefront but they need support, broad-based support.

Ty George.

When free speech is dead, graffiti takes its place. When leaders become isolated and overly protected from the written word, the walls and bridges become our newspaper.

Just something to think about

If I may George, in democracy was never thing called free speech, it was "modus operandi" by democratic governments to capture openly as much possible public opinion, organisations ( hence why was in communism opposite ) and as for Universities yes that part I do agree !! Well done my friend, well done !
