Not sure it would be the Empire's ultimate demise, George, but as an American, I'd applaud it as one more kick in the arse down another step of stupidity, on the way down. Bottom might take a while. Depends what else the lunatic mediocrities in DC can come up with next.

You maybe right Bin but it would more than likely hasten the rotting carcass of the US faster than Washington could possibly imagine.

Really schizophrenic for a lot of us here. We want to see it happen because the imperialist monster so deserves it. But we obviously fear for our own individual and group/family outcomes.

Since Australia will do no such thing, the point is academic.

Australia does not have the balls to join BRICS.

As amazing as that would be Australia is just far too conservative and racist to take an independent stance aligned with the "South". As a New Zealander I was deeply disappointed back in the anti-nuclear days of the mid 1980's when Australia failed to follow through on things anti-nuclear. Joining BRICs is a far bolder choice than anti-nuclear would have been. I've always been amazed at how Australia sees NZ as insignificant but yet lacks the balls to stand on its own two feet and remains ever eager to be a US deputy. Kind of like the UK but not so extreme (just)

Fine sentiments but will Australia be even allowed to join BRICS? Australia was one of the first countries to sanction Russia when the Ukraine war started, like Singapore which to date has not been able to join BRICS.

Australia must become strongly neutral and a member of BRICS - this is not a contradiction.

Joining BRICS is purely an acceptance of the future geo-political model. Unfortunately the white supremacist nature of Australian politics will ensure that this does not happen.

Australia must stop funding military institutions and war-mongering nations and therefore, as a neutral nation, exit from AUKUS, Quad and any ties it has with NATO. Unfortunately Australia is too cowardly to take such actions and will ultimately be dragged kickin' and screamin' out of it's "Western" alliances.

None of this will happen until the coloured migrants of Australia find the courage to lead Australia in the direction of it's future.

Oh, btw, Australia must recognise that "Israel" is a settler colony and has no right to exist. I suspect they will fail the first test when they pass new legislation that privilege Jews at the expense of all others and in particular those who support the true Semitics - the Palestinians. Genocide Albo took the stupid first step of setting up an advisory group on what he called "antisemitism" but once that's done you have little option but to follow through with their recommendations. The civilised world knows how stupid the Zionist and evangelical Christian recommendations are.

This will be the acid test for his government - will he follow the other white supremacist nations and have specific laws for the Jews and continue to harbour the members of the ZGF (Zionists / Jewish Genocide Force) or will he stand up to their pressure and prosecute all citizens fairly and ensure the ZGF members are committed to trials for their crimes. Time will tell.

Great stuff George! I hope they read this in Ottawa as Canada's situation is much the same and the sooner we pull the plug the better.

In the next few years any country NOT in BRICS might be considered a"failed state". Trump's incompetence and belligerence is doing a great job of building BRICS membership.

I hope this holds true but there are growing indications the US is no position wage a major war against China. It is becoming more and more preoccupied with internal strife and internecine conflict.

As empires are in the final stages of collapse the violence and decline turn inward on the homeland.

Unfortunately Albo is a pathetic weakling captured by Zionists, anti-China defence hawks, fossil fuel miners and gambling lobby.

Better outcome would be a total collapse of the petrodollar economic system giving Australian capitalism little to cling to, and a recalibration (fairer) of global affairs allowing more nations to become unaligned.

A very laudable concept, with a near zero chance of adaptation in the short term. Oz has an entrenched aristocracy deeply committed to the Anglo- American empire, that has never shown any interest in raising us beyond a vassal state. Ever.

Well, I know the 5 eyes, the EU and Israel won’t be seeking membership anytime soon. So I’ll have to learn to live with disappointment.😂 Their very existence depends on the dollar. However, I can see them scurrying around like rats fleeing a sinking ship should the dollar collapse.

This seems like a classic "no-brainer"! Why should ANYONE, let alone Australia, be in any way dependent upon a currency that faces imminent devaluation? The debt has been staggering for a while, and Trump's latest bill will increase it considerably. [The General Accounting Office (GAO) suggested a figure of at least another $3.2 trillion.]

Thanks Karina That's sad to hear but not surprising. We Canadians blame China for everything election interference...judge them hard.
