It is incorrect to say Hamas is the elected Government of Gaza. Hamas won the 2006 Legislative Election for all of Occupied Palestine which includes Gaza but it was not specifically elected to Gaza.

The Israeli military colonial occupation rulers overturned that election so essentially Hamas was elected to nothing.

It then became a defacto governing body in the Gaza concentration camp but Gaza continued to be ruled, governed by Israel. It is the Israelis who issue an ID card to every single Palestinian including those in Gaza and therefore, it is Israel which is the Government of Gaza and all of Occupied Palestine.

Hamas may be the leader of the dozen Palestinian Resistance factions in Gaza, to some degree, and the most organised, but it is in essence a prisoner support organisation seeking to make daily life functional in what is a concentration camp, created and controlled in all the important degrees by the Israeli military colonial occupation regime.

This may seem like nitpicking but I think it is an important point because Israeli supporters try to pretend that Gaza was and is an independent area, with Hamas as its Government as part of the plan to deny Occupied Palestine as a whole and to separate the two areas of what they call the West Bank and Gaza.

It's how I feel as an Australian, too, gypsy33 - to be, by the government of my country, so compromised to the Zionist cause. That it cannot lead the world in pushing back against the ugliness and stand for Palestinian liberation and independence against that illegal state of Israel occupying Palestine. That Australia still holds the Zionist Ambassador and his Mossad-filled embassy as somehow sacrosanct when it should be expelling them all - and closing down our own diplomatic mission in Tel Aviv - it mystifies me! Every day - as do we all - I catch conversations and reports out of Gaza - and East Jerusalem and from the increasingly murderous invaded West Bank. I cannot believe our political leaders are not apprised of the same reports (I'm sending them on to their offices - they cannot claim not to know - even if they "file" them without reading or watching - they are then complicit by averting their eyes and ears.)

Judy Bancroft's avatar

Of course they know Jim …., there’s an army of civil servants in DFAT briefing them. None of their weak reticence is because they don’t know. They are being leaned upon….and no prizes for guessing by whom.

Jim KABLE's avatar

Judy: Thanks for confirming what I "felt" must be the situation. So the truth IS known - it's just that the politicians refuse to deal with it...

Judy Bancroft's avatar

More like the politicians aren’t ‘allowed’ to deal with it Jim…🤷‍♀️

My country, Australia has bleated occasionally in feeble protest but done nothing of substance while continuing to send fucking weapons parts to the Shitraelis. I can only conclude that Ziojewraelis have infiltrated our Government, media and political system and has serious blackmail goods on all of them.

If they had any guts they would stand for integrity and say to the Ziojewraelis, fuck you, do your worst. Australians would respect that. If they all did it, if everyone did it, the Ziojewraelis would be fucked and powerless.

Great article. I watched the Tucker Carlson interview yesterday with Aguilar and it was highly emotional when he talked about his brief exchange with Amir. The boy kissed his hand in thanks for the pathetic bit of food he had but his face was a wasteland of hopelessness and trauma. His expression was as dead as he was about to be, brought down by lunatic Israelis firing bullets at the crowd leaving.

And before leaving and dying, Amir put down his food and put his hands either side of Aguilar's face, because Aguilar had knelt on the ground to be at face level, and kissed him.

Given the horror that poor child had lived for decades, worse in the past 22 months and what lay ahead, death was a blessing. No child should have to suffer like that with the world not just watching but helping it to happen.

What a load of cobblers. Homeboy was a disgruntled employee who begged for his job back after being fired for incompetence and now tries to smear Israel to make up for his worthlessness.

Hey Ros is everything okay. You never attacked me. Who is saying that you did?

Motley replied to my comment. I think he meant to reply to Azeneuve, or he thought my reply to Doctor Gazeuze was to you. The medium is cryptic.

They’re incapable brother because i’ve humiliated them with the truth. I can’t stopp laughing at their pathetic attempts of abuse and humiliation. It's hilarious. Anyway Motley, it’s cool I just abuse them back but worse. They’re imbecilic and their level of abuse and invective tirade demonstrates everything we’ve come to know about them and what they are - pathetic weak cowards.

I have just watched a video with Glenn Diesen interviewing Max Blumenthal - your essay here simply confirms everything those two respected commentators were saying about the US and Israel - ostensibly while picking apart the story of Jeffrey Epstein and his handlers...a huge rally yesterday for Palestine down Seventh Avenue - several blocks long - being cheered by watchers on the sidewalks...Support for Trump among the younger demographic dropping from 55% in January to 28% right now. Albanese/Wong are losing the moment to declare outright support for Palestine it seems - I've never been so embarrassed as I write to contacts around the world that Australia has no moral courage among its politicians except for the independents. The ALP is only "bested" by the ugly LNP - but realistically they are two sides of the same lack of ethical agency - owned - via Zionist money and blackmail. A kinship connection in the UK - in her early 90s - wishes me better weather and Godspeed as I head to Sydney to-morrow to march across the Harbour Bridge in support of Palestine. She is the editor of a book published in 2023 The Search for Peace. It includes War poetry which exposes the lie in the idea that as Wilfred Owen put it, using the words of the Roman poet Horace: "Dulce et Decorum est, pro Patria mori" - Among the many pieces through history and from around the world - of famous people and others I have not before met is a lengthy piece with extracts from the Adagia collection - in the treatment of peace - proverbs with commentaries first published in 1500 and then added to - by the noted Humanist Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam. The editor, Ruth Finnegan, heads it with a short Latin saying; Dulce bellum inexpertis "War is great when you are not suffering it (or when you are not on the front line) or in to-day's parlance - War's great if you are in the White House. There is also a Manifesto from Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein - issued in 1955.

Jim KABLE's avatar

I have just looked at the Wikipedia entry for Glenn Diesen - and beyond the introduction of his life and studies and early academic work - a lot of it in Australia - it is clear that the CIA/Mossad "warriors" have gained entry to smear his reputation - as they do to any who advocate humanitarian perspectives.

▪️ "The Grave Responsibility of Justice": Justice Robert H. Jackson's Opening Statement at Nuremberg

Justice Robert H. Jackson’s opening statement at the Nuremberg Trials remains one of the most famous and influential oratories in the canon of international law and criminal jurisprudence.

"The privilege of opening the first trial in history for crimes against the peace of the world imposes a grave responsibility.

The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated."

I’ll let the words of the ODNI written to me a short time ago suffice:

“There is a conclusion to this. In August 2007 an untraceable email with PDF image attached was sent to the consulate of the foreign country involved. This communication contained details of the incident without revealing responsible parties. The PDF image was a map showing where the bodies were buried. The State Department was called in and attended the exhumation and autopsies. The bodies were that of two rebels, man and wife, 28 and 26 at time of death. The woman died of a single stab wound to the heart, and the man died of a single rotary (commando) knife wound which tore the liver. The woman was approximately 45 days pregnant, and the CIA liaison reported that the bodies had been buried with extreme care, side by side, with adjacent hands placed in a clasp. Though the CIA was sure who must have sent the email, the US Ambassador was overcome and a standing order was issued by the State Department that no action be considered or taken. The bodies were returned to their families.”

"Its survival now rests solely on US patronage" .

The unfolding of Gaza has a redeeming function reminiscent of Christ's crucifixion. It awakens humanity to the horrors that human ignorance is capable of, epitomised in the nation-state form (Israel's life support situation is paradigmatic).

——

As for the question of what could truly resolve this crisis: the roots of the problem must be addressed. That requires clarity and understanding.

The Israeli-designed apartheid must end. Israel faces a demographic reality: it can only sustain itself as an apartheid state in order to avoid a Muslim voting majority.

If this is to be resolved through a two-state solution, then the division must be genuinely equal—50/50—and all messianic claims to exclusive sovereignty “from the river to the sea” must be unequivocally rejected.

The long history of military gains, settlement expansion, and broken agreements cannot form the basis of any just future. The solution must recognise that the land was continuously inhabited for centuries before the sudden and artificial imposition of the Israeli nation-state.

In this light, the Palestinian position is already remarkably generous, as they are willing to consider:

1. A single state with equal rights for all; or, if that is unacceptable to Israelis due to demographic concerns.

2. Ceding 50% of the land they have inhabited for centuries.

Nothing less will bring an end to the mutual fear and hatred.

NYT and FT are now racing to be on the right side of history: authorities cannot starve a population by accident. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/01/opinion/gaza-israel-famine-starvation.html

The Israeli government claims this system is necessary to prevent aid from falling into the hands of Hamas. There are no verified cases of Hamas looting aid from convoys on a large scale. And in May, the U.N. developed a https://www.unocha.org/news/briefing-note-un-coordinated-plan-resume-humanitarian-aid-deliveries-gaza that would have established safeguards on aid distribution, including the use of sealed trucks with QR-coded cargo, U.N. monitors at every crossing point, GPS-tracked trucks on pre-cleared routes and regular audits of aid recipients.

A single state called Palestine - return of and to stolen property - compensation for all destruction and for murders/torture/maiming - to be paid by Zionists and US government and any other governments which have become complicit - and the Zionist lobbies in those countries. This is what it will take!

KO0KO's avatar

True! The entire history and prehistory of this are essentially unfair. This unfairness must be brought to a clear and wide light

Slightly Lucid's avatar

My fear is that it is a Pyrrhic victory.

KO0KO's avatar

Victory is the question formulated by the occupier. The question that the occupation poses is one of restoring justice and order. Victory from this point of view has no meaning whatsoever?

The totalitarian great lie continues in this reactionary phantasy. That so few have called it out shows how corrupt this vocal religious cult has become as its religious dogma is accepted by a minority of of religious drones on social media demonstrates how out of touch with reality these drones are. Social media amplifies their cult’s religious dogma but election after election shows everywhere, even among Muslims, that where there is a vote people prefer Fascism to left religious phantasy.

Even as both political extremes agree that the Jew is the seminal problem to be extinguished, combining the oldest hatred with “modernism,” offering a glimpse into the new religion’s definition of heaven.

The extremes dominate social media but the silent demographic of voters everywhere is to reject this religion. Everywhere the left fails to gain electoral victory. Corbyn helped the Torries snatch victory out of the mouth of defeat. Assholes like this Islamist helped elect Trump. Until these theocratic autocrats are defeated the right will win. Should these Stalinists ever gain power democracy will end and the enslavement of Man will follow.

😆 keep dreaming high soziopath.

You might think you can control other people's mind with your go-to boring and already debunked false narratives. In my case, I never even buy both white supremacists & zionist narratives. So you can keep barking the false narratives all u want.

Less and less people will ever gonna pay much attention to delulus like you anyway.

You can't use that usual Hamaslighting to me since I understand how zionist hasbara & white colonialist worked even way before both Israel & Hamas ever established. You can't naively believed other people won't ever gonna find out what zionist & white colonialist did to Palestinian people since day 1 they occupied the land. You can't keep blaming the smoke if you're the one that keep lighting the fire. Do you really expecting the whole world as deluded as yourself? That's not gonna happened. You can't force your own false narratives to people Outside your death cult 🤷😁.

Its absolutely brilliant George. What in your opinion is the secret to their success. I am astonished by the out put of information put out by the Hamas people such that its about time to recognise a palestine state. I mean people infinitely smarter than me like mr Macron who on the strength of a couple of photos of starving Gaza children ... you know the straw that killed the camel so to speak persuaded them thats its palestinian state time. Especially when both photos were fake. How did they do this. But you know unbeleivable that this is the next bit will really take the cake and that is when the Hamas dudes and the Israeli people kiss and make up and say it was all a mistake and we love each other so so much. Dont laugh. We have got this far based on total bullshit . Anything is possible. Including flying pigs and unicorns.

George Hazim's avatar

Ah Robert you ask some great questions but to really simply it, many world leaders are now waking up to the reality of being viewed as complicit and on the wrong side of history. So, how do they address it, they feign sympathy and horror. What they fail to recognise is that people remember and so does history. These are villains attempting to wear the mask of humanity -.their problem is, they've exposed themselves for more than two years as supporters complicit in genocide

George Hazim's avatar

Hamas evil? Hmm you continue to display ignorance, naivety and strong elements of being brainwashed
