It’s scandalously repugnant to think the tragic assassination of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid workers by the IDF last week could spark greater outrage amongst Western leaders than the slaughter of more than 33,000 innocent Palestinian children, women, and men.
You struggle to rationalise how the loss of one set of lives holds greater value over another set.
But they do, and now Israel finds itself in trouble, not because of the genocide it’s committing, but for the assassination of the five WCK aid workers and their two bodyguards.
What a disturbing irony it is?
If there was any doubt, then it’s conclusive now: Western leaders consider brown an inferior colour to white, and Palestinians just happen to be “brown sugar” and just numbers.
It’s a perspective that has a profound, uncomfortable truth about the international community's response to war and tragedy.
The disparity in reactions, coverage, and lack of action, is an overwhelming bias that prioritises some lives over others based on geography and racial, and ethnic lines.
Naivety or blind faith in the Israeli cause couldn’t possibly see even the most ardent supporter believe what the IDF did wasn’t a planned and deliberate act.
It deliberately targeted aid workers, which Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said was an accident.
However, WCK CEO, Jose Andres, says the WCK convoy was targeted?
Evident from the attack is what the world needs to understand is that the Israelis are incapable of getting their lies in order.
According to former senior military war planners, the Israelis should get their lies in order if they’re going to try and convince the world the assassination of the five WCK aid workers and their security deployment was an accident.
“They'd have to because it was a deliberate target and there was nothing accidental about it,” a source said.
Military experts assessing the IDF’s actions are adamant the decision chain involved in the communication between intelligence, operational planners, and the weapon systems, don't allow for accidents.
“This isn't somebody on guard duty who was a little tired, sees movement, fires a shot, and accidentally kills somebody.
“This is a moving target that wasn't targeted, once but three separate times, which means there was the objective of killing everybody that was in these vehicles involved,” a source said.
The IDF’s claims of it being an accident have now changed to having bad intelligence.
But the IDF and the Israeli government are consistently proven to be perennial liars repeatedly.
Prior to the assassination, WCK management cleared their route in advance with the IDF - advising of the route, number of vehicles in the convoy, and time they were working to - complying with everything they said they were going to do.
And as the IDF and the government always do, once caught lying, changed their story.
The IDF’s changing story relates to the bad intelligence the WCK convoy picked up a senior Hamas official from the warehouse where they began their journey from - making it okay to assassinate the WCK aid workers.
Crying Mia culpa doesn’t bring back the dead, nor does it assuage their families or colleagues.
The Israeli government are now proven if they weren’t before to be cold-blooded killers.
It shouldn’t take the assassination of seven WCK aid workers to awaken what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians for more than 80-years - assassinating them daily.
What’s happened to humanity’s moral compass and where has it gone wrong?
The death of the WCK aid workers was no accident, making it a targeted assassination of everybody in those vehicles.
There was no Hamas leader picked up from the warehouse by WCK because he never existed.
Shouting their “bad intelligence” story makes the claim even more unbelievable if you happen to understand how aid workers in war zones are provided with high security detail.
Its absurdity is marked in the accompanying two security personnel hired by WCK - all highly experienced professionals whose job it is to ensure as a top priority the workers' safety and security.
According to one former high-ranking military source, these security personnel go overboard to ensure there’s no conflict of interest - there’s no way anybody can allege you're doing something that allows you to be stripped of your protective veil.
“It’s impossible to come up with a situation that says these professionals would have allowed anybody to bring a Hamas official in because that immediately makes you a viable target.
“We know it didn't happen because of the professionalism and their past track record.”
According to the source, Israel’s actions are part of an overall strategy to make it impossible for aid workers to operate in Gaza.
Understanding the cold, calculating strategy behind Israel’s thinking should give people insight into the barbarity of the IDF and the Israeli government.
Assassinating the WCK aid workers was deliberate murder. The Israelis knew there was no Hamas senior official as part of the convoy.
What the IDF did was part and parcel of a deliberate plan to make it impossible for aid workers to operate in Gaza.
One of the first things that happened after the assassination of the WCK aid workers was aid ships that were bringing aid into Gaza turned around because of the dangers.
Andres openly stated his team were targeted.
He said, “We were targeted until everyone was dead in this convoy.”
“Humanitarians and civilians should never be paying the consequences of war. This is a basic principle of humanity.
According to Andres, it looks like it's not a war against the Hamas regime, “but it’s a war against humanity.”
What Israel’s done, underscores a dangerous precedent where even those committed to alleviating suffering aren’t spared.
The continual murderous behaviour of the IDF not only endangers lives but hinders the vital work of providing aid and relief to communities devastated by the genocide.
International reaction to the WCK assassination is unsustainable.
Israel's aim is to prevent aid organisations from making living sustainable on the part of those who have been targeted by Israel.
Making the safety and existence of aid organisations like the WCK intolerable is a strategy to affect the complete depopulation of Gaza.
Israel has been committing atrocity after atrocity, and it’s reached a point where the world has stopped caring.
Does the international community care anymore about the barbaric senseless slaughter of innocent life Israel continues to commit?
The world has stopped talking about the young girl who was on the phone begging for somebody to come and help her when executed by the IDF, nor the journalists that have been killed, or the assassination of three young children in a hospital while being treated by a doctor, or how the IDF ran a bulldozer over American journalist, Rachel Corrie.
Israel has overwhelmed the world with the atrocities it continues to commit - saturated by so much violence, death and destruction we’ve become immune to it.
We have moments of emotion or recognition that something awful has happened, but it just doesn't stop, making it impossible to reflect on.
The extent of Israel’s atrocities has removed the world’s ability to take the time to think in-depth about what it’s doing because they just keep doing it.
However, it’s also a mirror that reflects the broader issue of systemic devaluation of Palestinian lives by Western leaders.
The quantification of Palestinian suffering, where its people are mere statistics, is testament to the desensitisation to violence and loss experienced by those living under occupation.
Outrage or, more accurately, the lack of—over the loss of thousands of Palestinian lives is indicative of a wider political malaise.
It's as if the frequency and scale of the Palestinians’ suffering have rendered it a 'normal' part of the global news cycle, not warranting the same level of empathy, outrage, or action that other human tragedies throughout history have elicited.
Normalising the suffering is not only a failure of international diplomacy but a moral failing undermining the principles of human rights.
Furthermore, the targeted attack on a humanitarian convoy, which should have been protected under international law, raises alarming questions about the sanctity of humanitarian missions in war zones.
The international community must hold accountable those responsible for acts of violence and work towards a future where human rights are universally respected, and the dignity of every individual is upheld.
Global reaction to the tragic events involving WCK aid workers and the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people should be a reminder of the urgent need to address the underlying prejudices that skew our perceptions and responses to human suffering.
Leadership globally comes with the responsibility to not only protect the interests of one's own nation but champion the cause of peace and human rights internationally.
Viewing Hamas's actions clinically, they’ve demonstrated what the global leadership hasn’t – showing up Israel as the state it really is.
The analysis will offend many, but the reality is, it is, and the deniers can scream and shout as much as they like but it’s true.
Those hostages held by Hamas and released attest to how they were treated as they say, “with respect.”
Because there were no 40 beheaded babies, women, raped, wombs ripped out of pregnant women, that was a lie – typical of the Israel and the IDF.
But there are seven dead WCK aid workers, 33,000 plus Palestinians and the numbers grow daily, along with the countless recorded atrocities and war crimes Israel’s committed.
That’s all Israel’s doing, not Hamas’s.
For six months I have been following the genocide. Daily. Watching beautiful men dig with their hands to rescue children they did not know from rubble of their homes. I spent a sleepless night watching journalist Motaz's Twitter feed as he stayed quiet in his darkened home while a monitor drone hovered over his front door torturing him with sound. Netanyahu the monster and his occupation forces have targeted a culture, assassinating surgeons, scholars, authors, poets, artists, entrepeneurs, clergy. Bombing universities, mosques, hospitals, libraries, schools. Bombing whole residential blocks. Real estate is already being sold to American Jewish Zionists while US government drewls over oil. We're a pathetic lot.
That “Israelis need to get their lies in order”
Is perfect.
